NEIL SOILAND
Los Angeles–based musician & singer song-writer
Neil Soiland is a Los Angeles–based musician and multimedia artist known for his eclectic, cinematic approach to songwriting and arrangement. Drawing inspiration from the masterworks of Brian Wilson and Gary Usher, he blends classic pop sensibilities with a fresh, modern perspective. Raised in Northern California, Soiland developed a deep passion for music early on, playing in local rock bands before relocating to Los Angeles, where he co-founded The Creation Factory and connected with Lolipop Records. As a solo artist, he has released EPs and singles including “I Know What You Are” and “I Wanna Spend My Life With You (The Wedding Song).” He is now developing The Soul Family Band, a project that showcases the full scope of his wide-ranging musical vision.
LATEST RELEASE
His debut EP, *Neil Soiland Presents: The Soul Family Band*, emerged from a moment of creative exhaustion. A planned two-week escape to Spain became an unplanned detour to London, leading him to Hackney’s Sausage Studios — and within two days, a new set of songs had taken shape.
Short but in constant motion, the EP is loose, airy, and free. Soiland plays most instruments himself, augmented by a rotating cast of L.A. collaborators: flute, saxophone, percussion, fuzzed guitars, and more. Tracks shift shape to suit each song, forming a flexible, collaborative ensemble.
“ Neil Soiland Presents: The Soul Family Band does not arrive with the authority of an artist at the top, but it does show something different: a creator recalibrating in real time, exploring new forms, trusting that his imperfections can open unprecedented paths. And, luckily, it's also fun. “
